Mid-Summer Super 7 Results

Outlaw Speedway was the place to be on July 14th, as it was $5 General Admission Night as a small token of our appreciation. A huge crowd was greeted by a tabletop smooth racing surface, some phenomenal racing, and the last checkered flag fell well before 11PM on a complete Summer Super 7 show.

The top storyline headed into Friday night's action was the $300 bounty in the modified division as a result of Cory Costa winning five total features, and the last three straight headed into the 14th. Another $100 was added to the bounty by Howell Properties in Lyons, which was cashed in when Brady Fultz won his first Modified feature of 2023. Fultz' win total on the night, when combined with the weekly purse of $2,100 was a cool $2,500 for his efforts. Fultz went flag-to-flag in wiring the stout field, but staved off several attacks to his lead to arrive in Friendly Victory Lane. Tyler Siri equaled his season's best finish thus far by coming home second. Steve Paine continues his assault on the points by finishing third from his P8 starting spot. Paine has not finished outside of the top five in a points race in 2023.

The sportsman division sent 22 cars to the green, and did not disappoint once again with the popular win coming in turns 3 & 4 on the final lap, with what was called "The hardest slider that we have seen at Outlaw" setting up a great finish in another battle of the ages as young gun Blake Parsons picks up his second feature win of 2023 over veteran Stacy Jackson.

In Street Stocks action a last set of turns move by Dylan Cecce put him in Friendly Victory Lane for the second straight week. Gene Sharpsteen has been having a breakout season and has yet to finish outside of the top five in points races at Outlaw, and held the lead for 14 laps after wrestling the lead from Chris Woodard on lap 6. The issue for Sharpsteen? Dylan Cecce was methodically making his way through the field from his P6 starting spot. Cecce worked the high side to perfection flashing his Late Model prowess, and with Sharpsteen moving up to block him on the last set of turns, Cecce was able to drop to the bottom and get by, and win the drag race to the Sunrise Insulation starter's stand. Points leader Shane Wolf was involved in an incident in Turn One and ended up in the styrofoam. Wolf was okay.

After dipping his toes in the Street Stocks water, Phil Yaw returned to the Hobby Stocks with an absolute vengeance. Yaw broke out the broom on the 14th winning the heat, his second straight King Of The Ring, and his second straight 20 lap feature. As usual, and although it was in the back of the pack...Brian Lloyd and Marc Minutolo put on an absolutely torrid battle for the entire feature while Yaw was stout at the point.
