Turkey Bowl Rescheduled To Sunday Afternoon Due To Heavy Rain

Sometimes Mother Nature just has other plans.
Rains fell overnight in the Finger Lakes region, putting Black Rock Speedway up against a tall giant to try and get their first-year Turkey Bowl in the record books. Weather reports had the rain moving out around 9AM, but when that did not come to fruition, Promoter Mike Jackson had no choice but to pull the plug on the event.
A rain date has been scheduled for Sunday November 29th with pit gates opening at 10AM, Grandstands at 11AM and the first green flag flying at 1PM. Track crews will work the rest of Saturday to get the surface ready to go for Sunday’s season finale.
The Turkey Bowl will consist of 5 divisions racing under home track rules with ‘Run What You Brung’ tires and body styles. Several sportsman modifieds have already been seen with sprint car wings attached to the top of their roll cages and should make for a truly unique event.
The Sportsman Mods will race an open vs. crate event paying $1,200 to win and $100 to start with the first crate driver receiving a $200 bonus. Any tire and body style is allowed.
305 Sprint Cars will be on tap for a $500 to win feature with each driver taking home $100 to take the green. 305’s may run any tire combo they wish.
IMCA/EMods will be on hand for $600 to win and $50 to start where they can race any tire combo and any body style.
Street Stocks will go 30 laps for $600 going to the winner and $50 to each driver for starting. Any tire combo and home track rules apply with the body style being opened up to each team’s imagination.
The Rear Wheel Drive and Front Wheel Driver 4 Cylinders will also race 30 laps paying $250 to win and $35 to take the green flag. Any tire combo allowed.
