Race Schedules, Formats Announced For Onyx Summit Weekend/Dutch Hoag National Open Weekend

Prestigious, high-paying events are tradition in the Fall at Black Rock Speedway.  2015 will be no different as Onyx Summit Weekend September 18th & 19th as well as Dutch Hoag National Open Weekend October 23rd & 24th will find intense racing on the track and generous purse money at the pay window. 

Onyx Summit Weekend September 18th and 19th

(Sunday 9/20 is Rain Date For Either Day)

A first-time co-promotion between Mike Jackson, Dick Stark and Nick Stark will be held on the weekend of September 18th and 19th, 2015.  The weekend will have a heavy focus on the 602 Crate Sportsman Modifieds as they will have the opportunity to compete in big shows Friday night and Saturday night.

The weekend events also include IMCA Modifieds, 4 Cylinders, Street Stocks, 600 Micro Sprints, a 4 Cylinder Enduro and a huge party in the pits after the races on Friday night.  It will be a can’t miss show for all of these divisions!


Friday September 18th

Gates Open 4PM, Stands 5PM, Racing 7PM

*$750-to-win, $100-to-start ‘Top 5 Invitational’ eligible for all 602 Crate drivers finishing Top 5 in points at all tracks that hosted a Grit Racing Series event in 2015.  Draw/Redraw Format, 24 cars start feature event. 

The Top 5 Invitational will carry a purse structure of:

Opening night festivities will also feature a Pit Crew Competition on the front stretch of the ‘Fast Four-Tenths-Mile’.  Pit crew teams will compete in a tire change competition that will see them change the right rear tire of a 602 Crate Sportsman in the fastest time possible.  A prize package for the winning team is being ironed out and will be announced in a future Onyx Summit Weekend press release. 

Night #1 of Onyx Summit Weekend will also see the return of the pit party at Black Rock with a bon fire and chicken barbecue.  Partygoers will be entertained by the music of Nick Stark on guitar and vocals.  Camping is always free at Black Rock Speedway and is always operated on a first come, first served basis.

 

Saturday September 19th

Gates Open 3PM, Stands 4PM, Racing 6PM

*$2,500-to-win, $200 to start 602 Crate Sportsman 50 Laps

The main event on Saturday will be the 50-lap Crate Sportsman feature that will pay a whopping $2,500 to the winner and a guaranteed $200 to start the feature event.  The draw/redraw format show will see heat race winners take home $150 each, while the Consolation winners will take home $75 each.  The Hard Charger Award will pay $250 and the Hard Luck Award will pay out $150. 

The Crate Sportsman division will have a $100 entry fee, which will cover the entry fee and a driver’s pit pass for the entire weekend ($30 Entry Fee, $35 Pit Pass x2).  

The 50-lap Crate Sportsman Main Event will carry a $10,000 purse:

5)    $450

6)    $375

7)    $350

The always-competitive Street Stock division will also be in competition during Saturday’s festivities, as they will race a 30-lap feature paying $600 to win and $75 to start.  This draw/redraw format race will follow Black Rock Speedway rules unless later specified otherwise.  

This event will be the perfect tune up for late October’s running of the annual Street Stock Empire 100 at Black Rock Speedway.  A $50 entry fee will cover the Street Stock driver’s entry fee as well as their Pit Pass for the Saturday September 19th event. 

The 30-lap Street Stock Main Event will carry a purse of:

6)    $200

7)    $175

8)    $150

11th-24th) $75

 

*$1,000-to-win NY6A Tour 600 Micro Sprint Championship

 

*$1,000-to-win 4 Cylinder Enduro (minimum 40 cars, rules to be posted on website)

A 4 Cylinder Enduro will also fill out the Saturday September 19th racing card.  Entry into the 4 Cylinder Enduro will be $75 which covers the entry fee for the car and the pit pass for the driver.

The 4 Cylinder Enduro will carry a purse of:

(60 entries increases payout by 50%)

(80 entries increases payout by 100%)

Dutch Hoag National Open Weekend October 23rd- 24th

(Sunday 10/25 is rain date for either day)

The annual Fall weekend at Black Rock will see several divisions take their turn in the spot light as each weekly adult division at “The Rock” will be featured.  In addition, the 360 Late Models will make their lone appearance at Black Rock on Friday night

Race Format:

-100 laps, Red Flag at Lap 50.  Cars stop on backstretch to refuel.  Only fuel, screw driver and tire gauge allowed on track.

-Caution Laps count laps 25-75

-You can ONLY lose a lap under the green flag

-Top 5 in Black Rock Speedway points are guaranteed starters
