14TH ANNUAL HOAG MEMORIAL WEEKEND PULLS CURTIN ON MONTH OF OCTOBER AT OUTLAW SPEEDWAY

Plans now call for Gobbler Event on November 29, 2025, to wrap up 2025 season.

Story by Kenny Shupp Jr.

(Dundee, NY) Tenth year owner of the Outlaw Speedway, Tyler Siri, is ready to wrap up the month of October the same way he has for the past decade with the annual running of the Hoag Memorial at the famed Dundee, NY speed plant.

“When Dean Hoag owned this facility, he was the one that started the Dutch Hoag Memorial in memory of his late father.  After I purchased the track from Dean we kept the Dutch Hoag Memorial on the schedule because of its importance for racers in this region.  Dutch was without a doubt the most versatile driver to come out of this area winning races all over the northeast on both dirt as well as pavement.  Keeping his legacy intact is of the utmost importance.”  That is according to Outlaw Speedway owner, Tyler Siri.

It was just three years ago that Dean Hoag was stricken with cancer and after a hard-fought battle he succumbed on March 3, 2023, prompting Siri to rename the Dutch Hoag Memorial to the Hoag Memorial commemorating the lives of both Dutch and Dean Hoag.

2025 will mark the third consecutive year that the Hoag Memorial and fourteenth overall that the high-profile event will wrap up the season at Outlaw Speedway.

As it has in years past, the 2025 Hoag Memorial will be staged over two days, Friday and Saturday, October 17 and 18, 2025 with action packed competition set for both dates.

On Friday, Oct. 17 the 360 cubic inch Empire Super Sprints Wow the fans with their breath breaking speeds around the Fast 4/10 of a Mile Oval.

During the last ESS event run at Outlaw as part of the 2025 Cal Lane Memorial Fall Nationals, Jordan Thomas picked up the victory over Davie Franek and Jordan Poirier in a classic battle which saw slide job after slide job before Thomas was able to secure the win.

A full contingent of Empire Super Sprints is expected to land at Outlaw Speedway all looking for the $4,000 pay day.

Also, on the Friday night card the Winner’s Circle Deli Mini Stocks will race a complete show including a feature event paying $1,777 to the winner.

In addition, there will be Front Row Dashes for the Friendly Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Modifieds, Knapp and Schlappi Sportsman and Swarthout Recycling and Crane Service Street Stocks.

Qualifying for the CRSA 305 Sprints will complete Friday’s action and like their big brother 360 Sprints a huge field of CRSA 305’s will converge at the track for their two-day event.

It is anticipated that the Friday leg of the aggressive weekend of events will be run off in a timely manner as the track preparation crew will then work through the night preparing the track for Saturday, October 18 which will find a full boat of competition.

Like it has over the past several years, Outlaw will swing the gates early in the day on Saturday as no less than five divisions will take to the speedway for a full day of competition including qualifying heat, consolation and feature events.

7’s will run wild on the Saturday leg of Hoag Memorial Weekend with the winner of the Friendly Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Modified feature pocketing $7,777.77 with the last place car taking home $777.77.

Last year’s Modified event was won by 2024 Outlaw Track Champion, Alex Payne.

Knapp and Schlappi Lumber Sportsman will race for a winner’s take of $5,077.77 and $507.77 just to start.

Jamie Friesen picked up last year’s winner’s check.

Swarthout Recycling and Crane Service Street Stocks no longer run a 100-lap event as a few seasons ago it was trimmed to 50 laps, but the purse remains the same with the victor claiming $2,777.77.  The half century grind pays $277.77 to take the green flag.

The Addison, Corning, Hornell, and Wellsville NAPA Hobby Stocks winner will pocket $1,777.77.

In 2024 all divisions had full fields of cars with former Street Stock Empire 100 winner, Dylan Cecce picking up the Street Stock victory.

Full fender specialist, Jerry Lobdell Jr. took home the Hobby Stock trophy and check.

All the “7’s” are symbolic with the car numbers that both Dutch and Dean Hoag ran throughout much of their storied careers.

For the first time the CRSA 305 Sprints will be included in the Hoag Memorial Tribute Weekend and like the Empire Super Sprints they too will race for a winner’s take of $4,000 which rates among one of their highest paying events of the year.

Fans can expect to see former Outlaw Speedway Hoosier Tire Sportsman Track Champion, Zach Sobotka in action along with many others including the likes of former series champion, Jordan Hutton.

Special incentives are available for both the ESS 360 Sprint and CRSA 305 Sprint drivers that wish to compete both nights in each division with all the information available at www.Facebook.com/OutlawSpeedwayLLC/.

Free on-site overnight parking will be available all weekend, and full concessions will be open both Friday and Saturday when the gates swing on both dates.

A pair of beer concessions await thirsty fans with the Turn 4 Tavern in the main Grandstand Seating Area as well as the Outlaw Saloon located pit side with the Tavern offering a top deck observation area which provides a panoramic view of the Fast 4/10 of a Mile Clay Oval.

Outlaw Speedway apparel will also be available both days.

All gate openings, hot laps and start times for both days along with ticket prices will be made available on the tracks Facebook leading up to the Oct. 17-18 dates.

In addition, statistics, photos and ticket giveaways can be found by going to www.Facebook.com/OutlawSpeedwayLLC/.

For those that cannot attend either or both nights of the Hoag Memorial live streaming of the action will be available on pay per view on The Cushion.

Track owner, Tyler Siri also announced that the track has tentative plans to run Saturday, November 29, 2025, an event that was not on the original 2025 schedule.

“The way the fall weather has been the past couple of years coupled with the fact we have had incredibly beautiful conditions for the last several months I have decided to take a chance and run The Outlaw Speedway Gobbler Event on Nov. 29.  I will be announcing within the next few weeks the classes that will compete along with payouts as well as gate and start times.  It will be a one-day event and if the weather holds up, we should have a great turnout.  If Mother Nature decides not to cooperate, we will just pull the plug early and call it a season.”  All that is according to track owner/promoter, Tyler Siri.

Celebrating 68 years of great dirt track racing action, the Outlaw Speedway is located at 82 Main Street, Rt. 14a just south of Dundee right in the heart of the Finger Lakes Region of Upstate New York.

A short drive from Canandaigua, Geneva, Penn Yan, Seneca Falls, Waterloo, Watkins Glen, Corning, Elmira, Bath and Hammondsport.
