MACMILLAN MEMORIAL IN THE BOOKS AS DAVE HESS CLAIMS SECOND CONSECUTIVE ULMS FEATURE VICTORY AT OUTLAW SPEEDWAY

Mike Maresca takes Modified win, Chris Darling grabs first ever in Crate Sportsman, Glenn Whritenour makes it double digit feature wins in Street Stocks and Craig DeCamp bags Mini Stock feature win.  All presented by Pitside Apparel.

Story by Kenny Shupp Jr.

(Dundee, NY) With 141 machines jammed into the Outlaw Speedway pit area for the high dollar Arthur and Cynthia MacMillian Memorial Event, the ULMS Super Late Models made their lone appearance of the 2025 season at the facility.

A solid field of twenty-four of the high powered Super Late Models made their way to he popular Dundee, NY facility all looking for the huge $10,000 winner’s check for picking up the forty-lap feature which was part of the nine event Fall Clash Series staged at eight different Northeast and Mid-Atlantic venues.

Ross Robinson of Georgetown, Delaware along with Ryan Montgomery from Fairmont, West Virginia both made long hauls to Outlaw Speedway as the pair would bring the field to the opening green.

Yellow fever would play a big part in the outcome of the forty- lap grind as many of the pre-event heavy weights experienced problems relegating them to DNF status including Robinson along with his wife, Amanda, who had issues early on and never started the feature event.

Dave Hess Jr. who hails from Waterford, Pa, in the western part of the Keystone State entered the event as one of the favorites having picked up last years ULMS event at Outlaw and on this night he was not going to be denied back to back triumphs as the versatile wheelman was able to hold off local standout, Dylan Cecce of Bath, NY now residing in Avis, Pa. to snag the victory.

For Hess it was just another day at the office as he once again proved why he is one of the top-rated full fender and open wheel drivers in the northeast and whether it’s in RUSH Crate Late Model competition, UMP, IMCA or full blown open Super Late Models his superiority reins whenever he hits the race track.

Rounding out the podium behind Hess and Cecce was Ryan Montgomery who raced within the lead pack through the entire distance.

Fourth place went to Ripley, NY native, Mike Knight who once again had a solid Outlaw Speedway ULMS finish after starting fourteenth on the opening grid with talented Queensbury, NY journeyman driver, Demetrious Drellos turning in his Big Block Modified and RUSH Late Model driving suits to race his full blown Super Late Model on this night to complete the top five finishers.

Dylan Decce’s runner-up finish boded very well not only for the partisan packed grandstands, but also for his Russ Clark Motorsports operation as the team has struggled mightily throughout the entire 2025 season with wrecked race cars and engine woes keeping the team to limited action thus far.

The high- powered Monster’s of the Midway move next to Clinton County Speedway near Jersey Shore, Pa for round five of the Fall Classic Super Late Model Series on Saturday, September 20, 2025.

Mike Maresca has found his second home at Outlaw Speedway this season claiming the 2025 Friendly Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Modified Track Championship and the $10,000 prize that accompanied his first ever Outlaw Track Title.

Now residing in Baldwinsville, NY, after growing up in Potsdam and attending college at Clarkson, Maresca would begin the twenty-five lap A-Main inside the third starting row as AJ Slideways, Alan Johnson and Vernon’s Willy Decker by the luck of the re-draw would bring the full twenty-five car field to the opening green.

It did not take Maresca long to dispose of everyone in front of him as he got to the point and would go on to his fourth win of the season and put an exclamation point on a stellar season.

The Arthur and Cynthia McaMillan Victory was work $6,400 for Maresca as thirty-three Mighty Modifieds checked in for the night of action.

Willy Decker, who competes very rarely at Outlaw made the trip worthwhile as he took full advantage of his outside front row starting position to hold on for second place, but perhaps the biggest story of the night would have to be the drive put on by Alex Payne of Hopewell.

As announced earlier in the week, Payne would wheel a car out of the Tim Gibson owned Sunrise Insulation stable for the remining three events at Outlaw during the 2025 campaign.

After struggling in his qualifying heat event and not making the field Payne was forced into a position of having to make the main through the consolation event where he would then qualify and line up twentieth when the green flag waved to start the twenty-five-lap feature.

Like he has done so many times in the past Payne used his versatility to his advantage and when the double checkered flags waved, he was up to third and completed the podium of finishers.

Fourth place was picked up by The Hurricane Steve Paine of Waterloo who dropped one spot after starting third and for the multi time Black Rock and Outlaw Track Champion he has completely turned his season around after struggling over the past few years in Modified competition.

Danny Creeden of Wurtsboro made the long haul from downstate, NY worth the trip as he completed the top five advancing one position from his sixth starting slot.

Knapp and Schlappi Lumber 602 Crate Sportsman were on the card as thirty machines took to the Fast 4/10 of a Mile Clay Oval all looking to make it into the $2002 to win twenty-five lap feature.

Chris Darling may be small in stature, but the young gun from Manchester carries a heavy right foot as he used lucky number starting position seven to move through traffic and go on to his first ever Outlaw Speedway victory in the highly competitive Sportsman Class.

A couple of real veterans in the sport, Josh Nobriga of Lindley along with one-time 2025 feature winner, Tim Guild of Rathbone would lead the charge of the twenty-four-car field at the opening green flag.

However, it was Chris Darling who stole the show as he made some nifty moves advancing to the top spot and once there, he would never look back in claiming victory.

Chasing Darling across the line was two-time 2025 feature winner, Donnie Lawson who started just ahead of Darling in sixth with Nobriga putting on a solid performance to take home third.

Like Lawson, Blake Parsons of Beaver Dams entered the fight with two trips to victory lane on the season with the most recent coming on August 15.

Parsons would line up buried mid-pack in the twelfth starting slot but would move nicely through traffic to finish fourth while Dundee native, Brent Ayers finish right where be started in fifth.

Glenn Whritenour rode a wave of nine feature wins to the Swarthout Recycling Street Stock 2025 Track Championship, but on this night the slate was swept clean as the largest turnout of Street Stocks thus far would find twenty-two of the Classy Looking Creations in competition.

Jim Buck of Beaver Dams and Ryan Krause of Dundee would bring the field to the opening green flag as two of the top competitors in the division, Glenn Whritenour of Jasper and Jimmy Grant of Penn Yan would begin the fifteen-lap feature in spots five and nine, respectively.

Talented Beaver Dams young gun and second gen driver, Willy Easling would get to the lead early from his outside row two starting spot and appeared to be on his way to his first ever Street Stock Feature win at Outlaw after successful seasons in Hobby and Mini Stock competition where he won the 2024 Mini Title.

However, with just a lap remaining Whritenour played spoiler as he was able to clear the high-flying Easling and go on to win ten in the 2025 season.

A disappointed Easling would have to settle for the runner-up spot, his best finish of the season as Chris Woodard would come from sixth to third and completed the podium.

Fourth went to former Outlaw Speedway Street Stock Track Champion and recently crowned 2025 Land of Legends Street Stock Track Champ, CJ Guererri who came from fifteenth.

Thunder Mountain Speedway standout competitor, Jerry Lobdell Jr. put on the drive of the event racing from twentieth on the grid to complete the top five.

As he did on July 18 and 25, 2025 Craig DeCamp controlled the action in the fifteen lap Winner’s Circle Deli Mini Stock feature event in route to the MacMillan Memorial trophy and check.

Starting outside the front starting row by virtue of the re-draw, DeCamp wasted no time in disposing of pole position starter, Nathan Powers and from there it was clear sailing for the Beaver Dams driver as he cruised to win three on the year.

Teddy Morseman and Willy Easling started in spots six and eleven respectively and worked their way to the front but DeCamp was too tough to manage and the pair had to settle for second and third.

Fourth place was five-time feature winner, Jayson Smart of Branchport who started ninth while fourth place starter, Scott Lehman drifted one position from start to finish completing the top five finishers.

Congratulations to all competitors.

Up next at Outlaw Speedway on Friday, September 19, 2025, it will be the 10th Annual Cal Lane Memorial Fall Nationals featuring the ESS 360 Sprints racing for $4,000 to win.

Also, on the card the Friendly Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Modifeds compete for a winner’s share of $5,010.

Knapp and Schlappi Crate Sportsman run for $2,068 to win while the Swarthout Recycling Street Stocks go off for $$1,568.

Rounding out the night of action will be the Addison, Corning, Hornell, Wellsville NAPA Hobby Stocks and the Winner’s Circle Deli Mini Stocks with both class feature winners taking home $1,010 for their effort.

The night of action sponsored by Friendly Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram of Penn Yan.
