MIKE MARESCA CLAIMS $10,000 WINNING THE 4TH ANNUAL TED SIRI MEMORIAL MODIFIED FEATURE AT OUTLAW SPEEDWAY

Hutton takes CRSA Sprints, Collin Brown makes it 10 different winners in Crate Sportsman, Jimmy Grant stops Whritenour assault with third Street Stock victory.  Danny Kerrick wins Hobby Stocks and Easling takes Mini Stock feature.

Story by Kenny Shupp Jr.

(Dundee, NY) Mike Maresca has come to play this season at Outlaw Speedway picking up his third feature win claiming the 4th Annual Ted Siri Memorial and the massive $10,000 pay day.

The Potsdam transplant now residing in Central New York, Maresca’s win was his third of the 2025 campaign and with it strengthens his hold on the Friendly Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Modified point battle with just one regular point show remaining plus the season ending Double Point Finale on August 29, 2025.

Should Maresca hold on the 2025 Modified Track Championship is worth another $10 grand.

Track owner, Bossman Tyler Siri along with Billy Paine brought the twenty-four-car field to the opening green with Siri immediately flexing his muscle and jumping into the early lead which he would hold onto through the first caution flag on lap eight.

On the restart Siri once again motored away from the rest of the field until there was contact between his machine and that of Alex Payne on lap fourteen sending Payne pit side and Siri dropping to third.

The third yellow waved one lap later as the ambulance was summoned to the grandstand area and after a lengthy delay racing resumed with Tommy Collins in control with Mike Maresca moving into second after staring twelfth and Siri third.

Another caution flag would once again slow the pace and bunch the field back up this time for the slowed machine of Tyler Siri.

With Collins still at the point and looking for his first Outlaw Speedway Feature win of 2025, Maresca was turning up the heat and took control on lap twenty and from there never looked back leading the remaining ten circuits and going on to the huge $10,000 payday.

Collins was able to hold on for second, with Brady Fultz having perhaps his best finish of the season completing the podium.

For the Fultz family operation it was a busy night as he finished second to Siri in the opening Modified qualifying heat race.  The team then found a cracked weld in a mounting bracket, loaded the car into the trailer and headed to their shop in Dundee a short drive away, made the necessary repair and returned back to the track in time to line up third on the opening grid and after spirited battles with Collins, Maresca, Siri and Bobby Varin was able to hold on for third.

Fourth place was claimed by current runner-up in the Modified point standings, Bobby Varin of Johnstown, NY who started alongside Maresca in the sixth row.

Jim Larock has suffered through a terrible 2025 season at Outlaw with a multitude of bad finishes, but on this night LaRock of Seneca Falls was on his game lining up twenty-second on the grid, used the five caution flags to his advantage plus some nifty moves coming through traffic to round out the top five finishers.

Earlier evening qualifying heat race winners for the Ted Siri Memorial went to Tyler Siri, Brian Swarthout and Bobby Varin.

A multitude of special awards, lap money, quick time and other contingency prizes went out to several different drivers in the Modified feature.

The Mike Emhoff led CRSA 305 Sprints made their second appearance at Outlaw this season, bringing along a full field of twenty-five competitors.

In their twenty-five lap A Main, former CRSA Series Champion, Jordan Hutton was able to hold off a hard charging Billy VanInwegan who pilots the potent Mike VanDusen owned machine as Dillon Paddock filled out the podium finishers.

Dalton Herrick and current point leader and former Outlaw Speedway Hoosier Tire Crate Sportsman Track Champion, Zach Sobotka completed the top five.

For a more concise look at the entire night of action for the CRSA 305 Sprints, Series Public Relations Director, Marty Czekala has prepared a full report which can be found by logging on at www.crsasprints.com.

The CRSA Sprints will make one final appearance at Outlaw Speedway for two nights of competition as part of the Annual Hoag Memorial on October 17 and 18.

Kenny Peoples Jr. of Addison along with Daryl Krebs of Union Springs would bring the twenty-three car Knapp and Schlappi Lumber 602 Crate Sportsman field to green for their twenty-five-lap feature.

The big question entering the night was could any driver repeat as a feature winner in this super competitive division.

Thus far in 2025 Donnie Lawson has been the only driver to repeat with eight additional different drivers visiting victory lane entering the night.

Collin Brown has had his struggles throughout the 2025 campaign at Outlaw, but the Corning, NY speedster had a good starting spot lining up inside row three, got to the point and never looked back picking up his first feature win of the season and making it ten different winners in the class with no one driver dominating the action.

Like Brown, Peoples has also had more than his share of problems in 2025 at Outlaw, but was finally able to get the monkey off his back and came home for second with one of the up and coming young guns in the sport, Chris Darling of Manchester putting on a masterful drive coming from fourteenth to complete the podium.

Blake Parsons of Beaver Dams entered the night with one feature win to his credit and like Darling was buried deep in original line up but was able to move through traffic to finish fourth with veteran Rathbone, NY competitor, Tim Guild completing the top five after starting eighth.

Glenn Whritenour entered the night on a hot streak in the Swarthout Recycling Street Stock Division winning the past five features in a row and eight total making him the favorite to make it six in a row and nine total.

However, Penn Yan’s, Jimmy Grant had other ideas as he lined up outside row two, took command from front row starters Tim Grady and Brett Crawford and was able to hold off Willy Easling and Whritenour for his third trip to victory lane in 2025.

For Grant it was a huge victory after being shut out of victory lane since June 20 after going back-to-back in feature wins and with the “W” it keeps in the hunt for the 2025 Swarthout Recycling Street Stock Championship.

Fourth place went to last year’s class track Champion, Gene Sharpsteen of Chemung who began the twenty-lap affair in sixth with Beaver Dam’s competitor, Joe Giardina competing the top five after dropping a pair of positions beginning the feature in third, however another solid top five run.

A pair of Hammondsport, NY competitors in Rich Rider and Les McCann led the twelve car NAPA Hobby Stock field to the opening green for their twenty-lap feature, but all eyes were on the back of the grid as heavy weights Danny Kerrick, Marc Minutolo and Jered Hill would have their work cut out for them.

Unfortunately for Minutolo of Phelps his fourth trip to victory lane will have to wait as he dropped out of the feature on lap six relegating him to a fifth-place finish.

Danny Kerrick of Stanley would go on to claim his third trip to victory lane in 2025 after starting ninth on the grid with Jared Hill of Dundee giving chase in second after starting last.

Rich Sharpsteen of Waverly advanced three spots from where he started to finish third with Himrod’s Mike Charette and Minutolo completing the top five in the Addison, Corning, Hornell, Wellsville NAPA Auto Parts Stores Hobby Stock Division.

The Winner’s Circle Deli Mini Stocks once again brought a formidable nineteen car field to the Ted Siri Memorial NASCAR Night with Elmira’s Marvin Jenkins along with Gavin Hall of Dundee setting the pace in the early going of their twenty-lap feature which would bring the curtain down on the night of action.

Willy Easling of Beaver Dams has run a very limited schedule in the 4 Cylinder Mini Stocks thus far in 2025, however on this night as he lined up sixteenth buried deep in the field with the likes of Zach Daugherty and Chris Woodard, Easling was able to master his way through traffic and go on to his second victory o 2025 with the first coming on May 16.

With Easling in control, the battle was on for second on back with Chris Woodard of Campbell able to get around current high point man, Zach Daugherty of Elmira coming through traffic to claim the runner-up spot with Daugherty third.

Four-time winner, Jayson Smart is still right in the thick of the point battle and finished fourth.

Scott Lehman completing the top five.

Congratulations to all our competitors.

Up next at Outlaw Speedway it will be Kids Night/Back to School Backpack Night on Friday, August 15 featuring a regular FAST 5* Show.

The track will be silent on August 22 with a scheduled night off prior to returning on August 29 for the Season Ending Double Point Show crowning all Adult Class Track Champions along with the Fritz Masonry Youth Bandits.
