MOTHER NATURE WINS FOR THE 6TH TIME IN 2025 AT OUTLAW SPEEDWAY

Story by Kenny Shupp Jr.

(Dundee, NY) For the 6th time in 2025 the Outlaw Speedway has lost another event to rain and inclement weather.

It is like listening to a broken record as week after week the popular Yates County Oval has been dealing with an extremely wet spring and this week’s Gene Dupuy Memorial Night is no exception.

Two-thirds of the scheduled events thus far in 2025 have been rained out and it was nothing short of a miracle that the May 30 event got into the books as a persistent drizzle throughout the night forced track personnel and drivers to keep the hammer down in getting that show into the books.

“This has been a challenging season for sure stated Outlaw Speedway owner/promoter, Tyler Siri.  The only thing we can do is keep moving forward and hope that this wet spring weather turns around particularly on the weekends.  It is not just Outlaw, but every track in the northeast has been getting beaten up so far.  We still have almost three full months left plus our season ending specials in September and October, so there is still a lot of room on the 2025 schedule for more racing.”

With the June 6, 2025, washout it will mean some scrambling if the track can fit in a make up for the Gene Dupuy Memorial which was a huge event for the Swarthout Recycling Street Stocks paying $1,313 to the winner of an event which pays tribute to one of the former giants at the popular Dundee facility.

Keep an eye on Facebook for further updates.

The track has already announced that the scheduled $500 to win 1 on 1 Spectator Races will be rolled over to next Friday, June 13, 2025.

Coming up next week in addition to the 1 on 1 Spectator Races where all the rail birds have the opportunity to get out on the Fast 4/10 of a Mile Oval and test their skills it will be a Regular Fast 5* Show including the Friendly Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Modifieds, Knapp and Schlappi Lumber Crate Sportsman, Swarthout Recycling Street Stocks, Addison, Corning, Hornell and Wellsville Hobby Stocks as well as the Winner’s Circle Deli Mini Stocks.

The Fritz Masonry Youth Bandits will also be on the card and do not forget that it will also be Father’s Day Night at the track on Friday, June 13 with just a $5 General Admission ticket price.

Fans attending are also asked to bring along Non-Perishable Food Items for donation to the Dundee Food Pantry.
