RAIN CLAIMS ANOTHER VICTORY AT OUTLAW SPEEDWAY ON FRIDAY, MAY 2, 2025

Story by Kenny Shupp Jr.

(Dundee, NY) An afternoon shower passed over the Outlaw Speedway at 4:00 pm and it left about as quickly as it arrived allowing the Outlaw Speedway track preparation crew to get back on the Fast 4/10 of a mile and get things ready for the season point opener.

However, another band of rain hit around 6:00 pm dumping plenty of H2O on the speedway forcing track owner/promoter, Tyler Siri to forgo the night of race activity.

“We gave it our best shot, but the cloud burst we received a little after 6:00 pm was just too much to manage so I had no other choice but to postpone the event.”  That is according to track owner, Tyler Siri.

It was to have been the 68th Season Point Opener for all the weekly divisions that compete at the track with the night being dedicated to the late Roy Silvers of Elmira.

With the washout everything that was scheduled for May 2 will now be pushed back one week till Friday, May 9, 2025, and run in conjunction with Mother’s Day Night.

For Outlaw Speedway it marked the fourth cancellation thus far in 2025 as the track lost the first two events in April as well as last Friday’s Open Practice Session and now tonight’s Season Point Opener.

“I want to race as badly as everyone else does, claimed Siri, however the rains just keeps coming at the wrong time.  We will try again next Friday and hope for better weather.”

Drivers and fans that purchased pit entry wrist bands are encouraged to keep them in a safe place as they will be honored next Friday when the Roy Silvers Memorial is made-up.
