OUTLAW SPEEDWAY PREPS FOR APRIL 1, 2023 OPEN PRACTICE

(Dundee, NY) Outlaw Speedway owner/promoter, Tyler Siri is pleased to announce that the track will be open for the first official practice day of the 2023 season on Saturday, April 1.  

“This facility dries out very quickly, so an April 1 practice date is very doable, stated Siri.  If we get any kind of favorable weather we should be all set for our first practice of the year.”

Tentative plans call for an afternoon test and tune at the historic Yates County facility with the track open for practice at 1:00 pm.  

Located in the heart of the Finger Lakes Region of Upstate New York, the winter has not been all that harsh with little or no frost in the ground throughout the winter months.  

February found abnormally warm weather with little or no snow and well above average temperatures making the traditional “Spring thaw” much less severe.

“We had a very mild and open winter so there is really no frost to come out of the ground this year.  If we get the typical late March weather that we generally receive in this area, we will be in great shape.  I have had a crew at the track almost every day getting things ready.”

The April 1, 2023 practice date will be the first of two offered to any driver and any type of dirt race car that wishes to attend.  The second test and tune will be on Friday, April 7 on a Friday evening with the first official race event of the season the following night on April 8.

“I always like to open the year with practice on Friday and racing on Saturday.  The Lucas Oil Nationals has become a traditional event at Outlaw which kicks off the regular race season and this year will be no exception.  The Friday night practice prior to the event gives drivers one last opportunity to shake off the rust plus they get a good feel for what the track surface will be like the following night.”  That once again according to track owner, Tyler Siri.  

It is anticipated that Siri will have qualifying Dash Races on Friday, April 7 to lock in the top finishers in some of the classes that will be in competition on April 8.
