HOAG MEMORIAL PULLS CURTAIN ON THE 2023 SEASON AT OUTLAW SPEEDWAY

The Friday and Saturday, October 20 and 21, 2023 season finale will cap off another successful season at the Yates County, New York Oval.

Story by Kenny Shupp Jr.

(Dundee, NY) The 8th Annual running of the Hoag Memorial will wrap up the 2023 season at the Outlaw Speedway in Dundee, NY.

“Since I purchased this facility, I have always completed each race season with the running of the Dutch Hoag tribute weekend over two consecutive nights.  After Dean Hoag passed away earlier this year, I made a name change to include both Dutch and Dean in this year’s event which has been received very well by the fans and drivers.”  That according to Outlaw Speedway owner/promoter, Tyler Siri.

Siri then went on to say, “The name may have changed but the format will remain the same with a full card for both nights of action including Dash Races on Friday night which gives drivers a shot at starting their respective feature events on the front row.

Friday, October 20 will see the return of the Empire Super Sprints and like Outlaw Speedway, ESS will also pull the curtain on their 2023 campaign prior to their season ending banquet in November.  The night will find the winged 360 ESS Sprints running for a winner’s check of $3,500 to claim the A-Main victory.

Also, on the Friday night card there will be a Friendly Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Modified Dash setting up the front row for Saturday’s $5,000 to win Hoag Memorial.

Dash events will also be staged in the Open Tire Sunrise Insulation/Knapp and Schlappi 602 Crate Sportsman along with a Brock’s Bowl and Pizzeria Street Stock Dash where the top two will be locked into Saturday night’s Empire 100 lap feature event.

Rounding out the aggressive opening night of Hoag Memorial Weekend the Winner’s Circle Deli 4 Cylinders will run a complete show where the winner will pocket a hefty $1,000.

Saturday will find the popular Yates County Facility opening early in the day as full heat and consolation events will be run to set the field for the $5,000 to win, $500 to start Friendly Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Modified feature.

Same will hold true for the Open Tire Sunrise Insulation/Knapp and Schlappi 602 Crate Sportsman $5,000 to win, $500 to start feature which is one of the higher paying events for the Sportsman Division in the Northeast.

“Putting up $5 Grand to win and $500 to start in both the Modified and Open Tire Sportsman Classes will draw huge fields to say nothing about receiving a winner’s trophy etched with the names of Dutch and Dean Hoag.  Even the Street Stocks will race for serious money with the winner of the Empire 100 pocketing $2,000 with the last place machine taking home $200 just for taking the green.”  That once again to track owner, Tyler Siri.

The Winner’s Circle Deli Mini Stocks will return on Saturday for another complete show paying $1 Grand as will the NAPA Hobby Stocks and the 600 Micro Sprints.  Yes, you read correctly, $1,000 to win the Hobby Stock, Mini Stocks and Micro features. Big Money for sure!

Lap money will be dished out for the Hobby, Street and Mini Stock Divisions.

Home Track Rules will be in play for the Hobby and Mini Stock Divisions.

Please be advised Friday Pit Gate opens at 5:00 pm with hot laps beginning at 6:45. The first green waves at 7:30 pm.

Saturday will see The Back Gate swinging at noon, hot laps at 2:00 pm and the first green displayed at 3:00 pm.  Grandstand gates open at 1:30 pm for the final day of the Hoag Memorial Weekend.
