Story by Kenny Shupp Jr.

(Dundee, NY) The weekend of August 18-20, 2023 will find tens of thousands of race fans pouring into the Finger Lakes Region of Upstate New York as the cars and stars of NASCAR will converge on Watkins Glen, NY.

Many of those same fans will find their way to the Outlaw Speedway in Dundee, NY which is just a short drive from the famed WGI facility for the Tyler Siri promoted NASCAR Night at the famed Yates County facility.

“This is always a huge night for us at Outlaw, stated Siri.  With all the activity surrounding the events at Watkins Glen a lot of fans and even some NASCAR stars make their way to our track for a night of dirt track racing.  I was fortunate enough again this year to book the All-Star Circuit of Champions to Outlaw in conjunction with NASCAR Night and the Ted Siri Memorial.  This is a big event for sure.”

Last season, Brent Marks made his first ever appearance at Outlaw and walked off with the winner’s check in winning the TEZOS Flo Racing All Star Circuit of Champions 410 Sprint Car Event.

Earlier this season on May 19, Zeb Wise piloting the Rudeen Racing 26 picked up the $8,000 winner’s check for taking the All-Star victory at Outlaw in only his second trip to the Fast 4/10 of a Mile Oval.

“The 410 Sprints really get around this place.  It’s the perfect size with wide corners and just enough banking that they can carry a lot of speed.  The All Stars have always put on a phenomenal show whenever they have raced here and the August 18 show will be no exception.”  That once again according to track owner, Tyler Siri.

The 1st Annual Ted Siri Modified Memorial was picked up by Matt Sheppard in an unexpected appearance at the track he once dominated.

“We had just put a new motor in the car and I wanted to shake it down prior to some big upcoming shows in the northeast, claimed Sheppard.  We had the night off from our regular track, so we went to Outlaw and were fortunate enough to take home the winner’s check in the Ted Siri Memorial.”

“My dad was my biggest fan and this facilities number one supporter.  When he passed away from complications of COVID, I immediately went to work planning the Ted Siri Memorial in his honor.  The 2022 event was awesome with a great turnout of cars and drivers for all the classes.  I’m anticipating another great response to this season’s event, stated the Outlaw Speedway owner/promoter.

In addition to the All Star 410 Sprints and the Mighty Friendly Modifieds there will also be other regular divisions to support the two headline classes including the Sunrise Insulation/Knapp and Schlappi Lumber American Racer/Hoosier Tire Sportsman, the Brock’s Bowl and Pizzeria Street Stocks, NAPA Hobby Stocks and the Winner’s Circle Deli Mini Stocks.
