OUTLAW SPEEDWAY FLIPS CALENDAR TO MONTH OF AUGUST WITH THE $1,313 TO WIN BROCKS BOWL AND PIZZERIA STREET STOCK GENE DUPUY MEMORIAL
In addition, it will be a regular show of all weekly divisions all set to go off on Friday, August 4, 2023.
Story by Kenny Shupp Jr.
(Dundee, NY) Outlaw Speedway owner/promoter, Tyler Siri will open the month of August with the annual running of the Gene Dupuy Memorial for the Brocks Bowl and Pizzeria Street Stock Division.
“Gene was not only a very loyal and resolute employee of this facility, but for decades he was a fan favorite when he raced here before retirement from driving. He and his daughter ran the infield scales for several seasons before he passed away unexpectedly. The following year I decided to run a Memorial event in Gene’s memory, and we have been doing it ever since.”
Tyler Siri then went on to say, “Gene helped make this place what it is today. Back in the 1970’s when this facility was still run by a Board of Directors, Gene played an integral part in putting fans into the stands when the facility was just fledgling along. He drove his familiar number 13 to many wins, and it was his rivalry with other drivers like Tom Smalley in that era that kept fans coming back for more.”
In addition to the $1,313 to win Brock’s Bowl and Pizzeria, Rt. 14a, Penn Yan, NY sponsored Street Stock Division, also in action will be the Mighty Friendly Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Modifieds, the Sunrise Insulation and Knapp and Schlappi Lumber Sportsman Division as well as the Winner’s Circle Deli Mini Stocks.
Rounding out the Super 7 Show will be the Swarthout Recycling Rookie Sportsman along with the Fritz Masonry Youth Bandits and the Hobby Stocks sponsored by the Addison, Corning, Hornell and Wellsville NAPA Stores.
With July in the rear-view mirror, Outlaw will now shift its attention to the final few weeks of point paying events which includes the Annual NASCAR Night on August 18 featuring the second and final appearance of 2023 for the Tony Stewart Tezos All Star Circuit of Champions 410 Sprint Car Series.
