OUTLAW SPEEDWAY TO OPEN THE MONTH OF JUNE WITH A PAIR OF SHOWS INCLUDING THE HIGH- PROFILE SHORT TRACK SUPER SERIES EVENT

The First Annual Dave Machuga Memorial Event on Tuesday, June 6 will pay the winner of the 50 lap STSS event a hefty $5,078.78.  Active Duty Veterans night Super 7 Show gets things rolling on Friday, June 2, 2023

Story by Kenny Shupp Jr.

(Dundee, NY) Outlaw Speedway owner/promoter, Tyler Siri along with his staff will be plenty busy opening the month of June at the historic Yates County facility.

Friday night, June 2 will find the facility welcoming all Active Duty Veterans to the track which will feature a Super 7 Show as well as the King of the Ring single elimination event for the Winners Circle Delit 4 Cylinder Mini Stock’s.

At the completion of the event, Siri and his track prep crew will immediately begin grooming the Fast 4/10 of a mile clay oval readying the facility for the Short Track Super Series event on Tuesday, June 6, 2023.

According to eighth-year promoter, Tyler Siri, “The Short Track Super Series is one of our biggest shows of the season particularly if you are a Northeast Modified racer or fan.  Brett Deyo has done such a wonderful job with this series and every year when we host this event it draws most of the big-name drivers from a three-state area”.

Siri then went on to say, “We are taking things one step at a time though.  First, we have a fabulous Friday night show for everyone to enjoy as we salute our Active Duty Veterans.  Then we roll up our sleeves and get right back at it for the following Tuesday STSS event. It is a quick turn-around, however scheduling is always tough.   Brett and I both agreed that the June 6 date was the best option for both of us.”

For the past several years whenever the STSS rolls into town, it always provides some of the best modified action that fans could possibly want.  Matt Sheppard who won last year’s event along with 2021 winner, Steve Paine will both be back at Outlaw to contend against the best in the business including Stewart Friesen, Andy Bachetti, Mike Mahaney, David Schilling, Bobby Hackel, Michael Maresca among others. However, they will have their hands full as a host of Outlaw Regulars will be trying to protect the home turf including Paine and his two sons, Billy and Tommy, Brady Fultz, Cory Costa, The Doctor, Danny Johnson, Jeff Daugherty along with 2022 Friendly Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Modified Track Champion, Ajay Potrzebowski Jr.  Ron Cartwright also has had great success over the years at Outlaw is anticipated to attend.  Track owner, Bossman Tyler Siri will also stake his claim to the 50 lap Outlaw Showdown win.

In addition to bringing along the best in the business to Outlaw Speedway for the Modified porting of the card, Siri will also dedicate the night to long -time friend and noted local fabricator, Dave Machuga.

“Dave was just a great guy; he did so much for this sport and this track.  He helped me out a lot since I purchased the track and I really miss having him here.  It was a tough loss for all our local race community and that’s why I want to remember him with the first running of the Dave Machuga Memorial”.  That once again according to Outlaw Speedway owner/promoter, Tyler Siri.

The Modifieds will race for a winner’s check of $5,078.78 to pick up the 50 lap Outlaw 50 Showdown.

The 602 Crate Sportsman will compete for $2,078.78 and the Brocks Bowl and Pizzeria Streets run for $1,778.78.

Also, on the card to wrap up the Dave Machuga Memorial Event will be the Winner’s Circle Deli 4 Cylinder Mini Stocks with a nifty $1,078.78 awaiting the victor.

“This is a huge payout for all the classes that will be on the card June 6.  Of course, I ended all winners checks with $78.78 in tribute to Dave Machuga who ran the number 78 most of his driving career.”  That again according to Siri.

Gate times for both pit and grandstand entry along with ticket pricing for both the June 2 and June 6 events will be posted along with plenty of other valuable information heading into both shows.  In addition, any weather-related matters as well as last minute updates can be found at www.Facebook.com/OutlawSpeedwayLLC/.

After the two whirl wind nights of competition the track will lay dormant on Friday, June 9 as Siri and company will exercise their option of giving fans, drivers and employees a night off from racing to regroup as everyone heads into a hectic remaining month of June.
