OUTLAW SPEEDWAY READIES FOR OPEN PRACTICE AND SEASON LID LIFTER JUNE 4 AND 5, 2020
(Dundee, NY) In a totally unexpected block buster announcement, the ownership and management team of the Outlaw Speedway have set dates for both open practice and the season opener for 2020
Thursday night, June 4 the track will be open for practice allowing drivers that will be competing at the track during the 2020 season ample time to shake down their equipment. Pit admission is $25 per person and the grandstand seating area will be closed to spectators.
Then on Friday, June 5 Outlaw Speedway will host the first full point race of the 2020 season featuring the Friendly Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Modifieds racing for $2,000 to win and $200 to take the green flag. Also, on the card it will be the Sunrise Insulation Crate Sportsman with the winner picking up $750. The DIRTcar Hoosier Tire Sportsman will also race for a winners’ share of $750. The Stan’s No Tubes Street Stocks will open the season with the winner picking up a nice $500 as will the winner of the IMCA Modifieds. The mighty 4 cylinders will race for $300 to win and the Hobby Stocks will round out the card with the victor claiming $250. The Winner’s Circle Deli Youth Bandit Division will also see action as part of the season opener.
In following along with NYS protocol there will be no spectators allowed in the grandstand seating area and anyone entering the pit area will be required to wear a face mask and follow safe distancing along with other CDC guidelines.
Gate and start times for both nights will be posted on Facebook as the dates draw closer. Pit admission for the Friday night lid lifter is set at $40.
Currently, Tyler Siri along with his partner, Jordan Lynch are working aggressively to have the Friday night, June 5 event televised on Pay Per View. As more details become available, they will be posted on the tracks face book account.
“This has been a long dry spell, stated Siri. We are finally in a position that we can open the track for racing with people in the pit area only, following strict guidelines. Racers are chomping at the bit to get going and it looks like the 2020 race season at Outlaw Speedway is finally here.”
Please be advised that New York State Governor, Andrew Cuomo still reserves the right to change the rules as he sees fit based on the scientific data and the daily number of Covid-19 cases. However, the Finger Lakes Region, where Outlaw Speedway is located continues to show a decline and at this time all systems are go for both the June 4 practice and June 5 season points opener.
It is hoped that when the Finger Lakes Region of Upstate New York reaches Phase 4 on July 3, the track could potentially open to spectators just in time for the July 4 weekend and the Annual Outlaw Speedway Fireworks Extravaganza. Subsequent press releases will be forthcoming relevant to all upcoming race dates with all information posted on Facebook and the tracks web site.
