The next event is scheduled for Friday, August 24 with the return of the A.Verdi Patriot 360 Sprints.

(Dundee, NY)  For the second consecutive scheduled race event, the Outlaw Speedway has cancelled their racing due to rain.  The track lost the 2nd consecutive NASCAR Night on August 3 due to rain and there was a scheduled night off on Friday, August 10 and with this week’s rainout it makes three consecutive weeks in a row that the Yates County speed plant has been silenced.

“We can’t control what the weather is going to do, stated Outlaw Speedway track owner, Tyler Siri.  This has been weird summer weather wise and when the forecast calls for an 80% to 100% chance of showers it is a pretty good bet you are going to get hammered.  We have been pulling the plug early on our shows knowing that the late afternoon gully washers usually land right about the time we are all set to race. There is really no sense in racers and fans traveling unnecessarily”.

The Outlaw Speedway is not alone as virtually every track in the northeast has been hampered by weather related issues in 2018 going way back to late March and April when the winter seemed to drag out forever and then a wet spring and summer in sewed.

The Finger Lakes Region has been deluged in rain this past week with a lot of flooding in nearby Schuyler County and there is still a travel advisory in places not too far from the track where the roads are still hazardous and the forecast for Friday called for more heavy rain and late day thunderstorms with the threat of even more flooding.

Current high point leaders can breathe a sigh of relief as another point show has been lost and with the regular point season rapidly coming to a close every show that is cancelled means that nobody can make up ground or extend their advantage.  A list of the current point standings can be found on the track web site.

Next Friday, August 24 it will be the return of the A. Verdi Storage Containers Patriot 360 Sprint Tour for a make-up show from an earlier season rainout. The sprints will be accompanied by the Friendly Chrysler Dodge, Jeep, Ram Modifieds, the Doug Gross Construction Crate Late Models as well as the ever popular classy Street Stocks.  The Decker Farmers Insurance Agency sponsored Hobby Stocks and IMCA Modifieds will join the card along with the Crate Sportsman and the mighty 4 cylinder divisions.

All gate times and admission prices can be found on the home page of the track web site or Facebook accounts.
