(DUNDEE, N.Y.) – While the track championship has been decided at New York’s Outlaw Speedway, located in Dundee, NY, there is still a great deal of coin, points and national, regional and state IMCA implications left on the line in 2016.
Tyler Siri’s Outlaw Speedway will host the IMCA sanctioned Modifieds for two monster shows during the inaugural Outlaw Fall Nationals September 23rd and 24th. Two sanctioned races with 2017 Fast Shafts Ballot Qualifiers on the line will headline a $1,000-to-win twenty-five-lap A-Main on Friday, and $1,500-to-win thirty-five-lap A-Main on Saturday night.
Both shows will pay out National, Regional and State IMCA points. Saturday night will double in that the Empire State Series will hold their annual Fall event at Outlaw Speedway, with Empire State Series points up for grabs.
“We’re really excited to offer this to the Northeast IMCA contingent,” said Siri when contacted Tuesday. “We stuck with this division this season and their numbers were steady all year long. This is a great money on the line, plus they can add to their, state, regional and national points.”
As confirmed with IMCA officials in Iowa on Tuesday, the Fast Shafts Invitational held at next September’s 2017 Super Nationals offers fan voting for drivers eligible to be on the Fast Shafts ballot. Thirty drivers are selected for the invitational from the balloting, with the winners of the Outlaw Fall Nationals earning spots on the ballot. From there, it will be up to those drivers’ fans to vote for them when voting begins.
The IMCA Modified portion of the Fall Nationals is just one piece of the pie that will be dished out on the ‘Fast Four-Tenths-Mile’ next weekend. The 360 Sprint Cars of the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints, Patriot Sprint Tour and United Racing Club will converge on Outlaw Speedway for a $5,000-to-win feature event.
The Crate Sportsman, Street Stocks and Four Cylinders will also highlight the Friday night card. After the races, local country music recording artist Devon Franks will entertain race fans with a post-race concert.
Saturday features Round 2 of the open tire Sunoco $25,000 Modified Triple Crown, with a forty-lap $5,000-to-win feature event. Also on the card Saturday will be an open tire Crate Sportsman Shootout, going thirty-five laps for $2,000-to-win. The Four Cylinders will go thirty laps for $1,500-to-win and the 600 Micro Sprints will go twenty laps for $1,000-to-win.
Racing begins at 7:00 on Friday night with general admission being $20 for adults 13 and up with Senior Citizens paying the discounted price of $18. Pit gates open at 4:00 with pit admission being set at $35.
Saturday night will see racing take the first green flag at 5:00 for just $20 for adults ages 13 and up, and $18 for Senior Citizens.
Children 12 and under are always FREE at Outlaw Speedway. Camping is also always free on the grounds as well. 2016 saw the speedway expand its camping area with plenty of room for the whole family to pack up and make it a weekend.
