For Immediate Release – April 22nd, 2016
(DUNDEE, N.Y.) – The stage was set, the pits and grandstands were packed to capacity. Then Mother Nature reared her ugly head.
Rains began to fall at 5PM as expected per the forecast, but the rains did not stop as the forecast had outlined. Rain only stopped briefly before firing back up in a storm that ended the night’s racing activity within a 15-minute period.
Those that purchased tickets to get in the grandstands or the pits have three options to use their rain stubs. You can use your rain ticket for next Friday’s show on April 29th or for the May 20th show when the three headline divisions will run their rain dates. No refunds in ticket price will be given if fans choose to use their ticket on April 29th.
Those who cannot use their rain stubs and request a refund may do so by mailing in your tickets to Outlaw Speedway c/o Ticket Refund 82 Main St. Dundee, NY 14837. Outlaw Speedway’s ticketing department will get refunds back to those fans as soon as they possibly can do so.
The Grand Opening for Outlaw Speedway will now move to Friday April 29th with the scheduled American Legion night. A full card of racing including Modifieds, Sportsman, Crate Late Models, Street Stocks, IMCA Modifieds, Four Cylinders and Bandits will fill the night’s action.
The Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints have been rescheduled for Friday May 20th, joining a regular card of racing. The $3,000-to-win Modified Outlaw Spring Nationals will also move to the Friday May 20th show- creating a two-for-one special on the Dundee, NY clay.
The Outlaw Spring Nationals will be historic as the Modifieds will race for $3,000-to-win in leg number one of three for the Insinger Performance/Sunoco Race Fuels Outlaw Challenge.
If the Modified winner that night can also win the Outlaw Fall Nationals and Dutch Hoag National Open, they will take home an eye-popping $25,000. The Friendly Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep and Ford Modifieds will also race for $2,000-to-win on a weekly basis and receive a minimum of $200 for taking the green flag. The track champion of the division will receive a $5,000 championship for their efforts.
Joining the Modifieds during the Outlaw Spring Nationals will be the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints, led by 6-time and defending tour champion Steve Poirier. The ESS 360 sprints will take place on this night with the tour racing for $2,000-to-win, $250 to take the green and the dash being sponsored by longtime supporter Lane's Yamaha out of Watkins Glen, NY.
In fact, Dundee, NY resident 'Mr. ESS' Malcolm Lane holds the all-time record for ESS wins at the facility known over the years as Dundee Raceway, Black Rock Speedway, Yates County Speedway and now Outlaw Speedway in 2016. With other tour regulars Jason Barney, Sammy Reakes IV, Paul Kinney, Matt Tanner and Shawn Donath hungry for their first wins of 2016, this show will be a cannot miss! Outsiders confirmed for Friday night include Davie Franek, Mark Smith, Larry Kelleher and Jared Zimbardi.
The Super Gen Products Grit Series will also move to Friday May 20th for a thrilling 602 Crate Sportsman event titled the “Showdown at Sundown” that falls on their 2016 American Racer and Hoosier Tour schedule. Casey Pavlick looks to defend his recent Grit wins at Outlaw Speedway as well as his second-straight track championship in 2015.
