MASSIVE $10,000 FIREWORKS SHOW JULY 4TH KICKS OFF A HUGE MONTH OF JULY AT YATES COUNTY SPEEDWAY
DUNDEE, NY…Racing returns to Yates County Speedway with a bang on the Fourth of July as a massive $10,000 fireworks show will accompany a full show of racing for all divisions. The show will kick off a huge month of racing at the Dundee oval which will also feature the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints and a midweek special for the Big Block/Small Block Modifieds.
Yates County Speedway traditionally plays host to the biggest fireworks show in the Finger Lakes Region and this year is no exception as the show falls on the actual Fourth of July. The massive $10,000 show will light up the night sky.
The night will begin with a full show of racing in all divisions. Casey Pavlick leads the way in the 602 Crate Sportsman by just five points over Fran Hilton. Pavlick and Hilton are both two time winners this year. Defending champ Brady Fultz is a close third coming off his first win of the season.
Only three points separate the top three in the Greg’s Auto Body Street Stock division. Jake Karlnoski leads Chuck Winslow by one point and Jared Hill by just three. Brian Knowles holds a one point lead over his brother Jason Knowles in the Late Models.
Jared Spalding is having a fantastic year in the IMCA Modifieds. He is the current point leader at both Yates County and Five Mile Point Speedway. Rich Karlnoski is just three points behind him at Yates County. Darryl Ruggles leads the way in the 305 Sprints over John Preston and Alysha Ruggles.
Scott Bradley is the current point leader in the Four Cylinders over Jayson Smart and Chad Ayers. Allison Teed leads the Bandit standings over Chris Davis and Desiree Force.
Join us Friday for a full night of racing and a massive $10,000 fireworks show. Pit gates will open at 4:30 p.m., grandstand gates at 5:00 p.m. and race time is 7:00 p.m.
The Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints will make their return to Yates County Speedway on Friday, July 18th as they join the full show of racing. It will be their first visit to the track since Chuck Hebing took home the win on July 8th, 2011.
The Empire Super Sprints have a rich history at Yates County Speedway, formerly Black Rock Speedway. There have been 63 ESS races held at the track, dating back to August 3rd, 1984 when Len Krautheim III took home the victory. There have been 40 different winners in the 63 races that were run. Local hero Mal Lane has the most wins with six ESS victories at the track.
This is an event that you will definitely want to circle on your calendar as a strong field of cars is expected. Yates County Speedway produces amazing racing for Sprint Cars and this show will be no exception.
The next big show on the schedule will take place on Tuesday, July 22nd with the return of the Big Block/Small Block Modifieds along with a Race of Champions Sportsman Series event. The Modifieds will compete in a 50 lap feature, paying $3,000 to win. This event is expected to draw a large field of cars as it is the only Modified show in the States on that night. With a Series race taking place in Quebec on that night, it will be a great opportunity for a “Weekend Warrior” to enjoy the limelight and a nice payday.
