Black Rock Speedway Hosts $10,000-to-win Enduro and $6,000-to-win Modified Empire Finale Saturday
Rich Vleck, DUNDEE, NY, (October 31, 2012)- For many teams, Dutch Hoag’s National Open two weeks ago was their last chance of the season to compete, but for modified and FWD 4-cylinder teams, they have one last shot at season-ending glory this Saturday.
The fourth running of the $10,000-to-win “Big One” Enduro brings history and big money to the table this Saturday. This 100-lap, one-of-a-kind event will start all competitors entered in a 3-wide formation based mostly off of open draw and will pay five figures if more than 100 cars start the feature. As a reminder, all teams should read the detailed rules on www.BlackRockSpeedway.com, which includes ensuring each competitor has their own scorer.
Even though the winner of the enduro could get $10,000, it would be hard for the $6,000 Modified Empire Finale to get lost in the shuffle this weekend. This 77-lap event is sure to bring in top names from across the region in to the Finger Lakes to take on the best of the area.
Ryan Susice is coming off an impressive performance two weeks ago, when he withstood the advances of Alan Johnson, Chris Hile and Brady Fultz, among others. All are expected to be in attendance once again this Saturday along with a prestigious list of names who were not part of the festivities in October.
In addition to the enduro and modifieds, the Total Destruction Demolition Derby crew will be on hand for a series of carnage-filled sessions in the infield.
As was the case with the October event, the modifieds will once again be running time trials to set the heat race lineups. This will take place as early as 11:30 A.M. Pit gates will swing open at 8:00 A.M., while the first event of the day, the Youth Demo Derby, will start promptly at 1:00 P.M. The modifieds and enduros will each have a $30 car entry fee for this weekend. This should be a fast-moving event, so bundle up and hurry down to The Rock one last time in 2012!
