Anticipation Builds for Dutch Hoag’s National Open Weekend
Two Big Days of Racing, October 21-22

DUNDEE, NY (October 1, 2011)- With October now upon us, the time has already begun to prepare for Dutch Hoag’s National Open Weekend at Black Rock Speedway. The two-day event in Dundee, held October 21 and 22, will feature six different classes of cars, including perhaps the biggest races of the year for many of the participating drivers.

On Friday, October 21, the World Products Empire State IMCA Modified Series will headline the card for the second time this year. Along with a Klein Steel Retail Enduro, all classes will have multiple sessions in which they are permitted to practice. Action will fire off at 6:45 P.M.

On Saturday, October 22, five major classes will be on hand, with all but the micro sprints running time trials. Among the major events to be held during Black Rock’s only October Race Weekend is the seventh running of the $2,000-to-win, $200-to-start Street Stock World 100, one of New York’s most interesting events for a class of cars that often has to share the spotlight. With a great payday available for more than just the winner, the 2011 version is unlikely to disappoint.

The title for the BRP CanAm Late Model Series is coming down to the wire and the ISKY Cams Championship Event at BRS will be where it is all decided. With a unique qualifying format, plus a $500-to-win Isky Red Zone 20-lap Non-Qualifiers Event, plenty of eyes will be focused on this show.

The crate sportsman put on a great show each Friday during the summer in Dundee, but on a Fall Saturday the class of cars is sure to get even stronger as the King of the Crate Sportsman event will pay $2,000-to-win and $200-to-start the feature.

The mighty modifieds will make their only appearance at Black Rock with a Big Block vs. Small block Shootout featuring sail panels. More details on this highly-anticipated event will be forthcoming.

Certainly not last on the card will be the championship event for the Original Pizza Logs 600 Sprint Tour will take to one of their most competitive tracks. Three youngsters will vie for the title at the track where the tour began back in May.

Lap sponsorships for the street stock and sportsman events have been established, which should make these impressive payouts even heftier.

Heat race action is scheduled to kick off at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday. Hot laps and Time Trials will start before that point. Remember that camping is always free on race weekends and that children 16 and under receive free general admission with a paid adult.
